 Frequenly Asked Questions…

  • What time does the boat leave Sihanoukville?

The ‘Fast’ Speedferry Cambodia Catamaran Boat comes twice daily to M’Pai Bay. It leaves the Mainland from Serendipity Pier at 0830 & 1500. Tickets can purchased from Koh Rong Travel Centre at Golden Lions roundabout in Sihanoukville.

  • What time does the boat leave the island to go back to Sihanoukville?

The boats leave the island from Sunset Pier in M’Pai Bay every day at 9.30am & 4pm.

  • How long does the boat journey take?

The journey takes between 45-60 minutes depending on route & weather conditions.

  • Should I bring a mosquito net?

All beds are fitted with a fly/mosquito net, so you don’t have to bring your own. Those susceptible to insect bites should bring some repellent. This is a tropical place.

We also provide clean sheets (top/bottom sheet & pillow). Towels & Blankets are also available upon request.

  • I’m a bit short on time. Is one night enough?

If you take the early 0830 fast SpeedferryCambodia boat, there isn’t any reason why you couldn’t take the late 1600 afternoon boat back the next day.

Although Chill Inn is so relaxed, you’ll wish you’d stayed two, maybe more nights.

  • Will my valuables be safe on the island?

The island is safe and has the village has a relaxed atmosphere.

However, usual common sense precautions with your valuables should prevail; by keeping high value items on your person or locked away in lock boxes provided in every room.

  • Is there electricity on the island?

Yes, Chill Inn is Solar Powered, so we have 24hr lights & charge facilities with fans in all rooms.

  • Is there an ATM in M’Pay Bay?

No. You will need to bring cash with you.

There are no ATMs (cash machines) on any part of the islands, so bring enough Riel/US$ for all your needs.

On top of your accommodation, you might spend about $8-10 a day on food and perhaps $3-5 upwards on drinks, more if you’re partial to a few rums in the evening. Prices for food and drink are the same as on the mainland. A beer is just $1 (*75c in happy hour) & hearty meals start at $3-5.

You are more than welcome to stay for as long as you like, subject to bed availability.

No. Your boat ticket is valid every day.

Laundry can be arranged for a small fee, but it’s best to bring clean clothes with you as island facilities are basic.
